Alchemy skin updated for v1.25 of Alchemy

Hello all,

As a few of you have noticed the current release candidate of Alchemy makes the Limeflavour skin crash and revert back to the default factory skin.
This is just a small notice about this issues and that the skin have been updated to work with the upcoming version of Camel Audio Alchemy v.1.25.

Many thanks to Andy and Rob at CamelAudio who actually took the time to make the update for this skin, all I did was ask about how to fix the issues and a day later they had solved the problem and already updated my skin. Now if that isn't a support team worth praising over and over I don't know what is.

The new skin is available at your user account at Camel Audio but also as a download below.

Fuzzpilz Oatmeal

More skins for the Oatmeal synthesizer (freeware).

First of all, the Lumina skin is updated to R8.
Nothing fancy, just corrected the linkname on the gui that leads to the Oatmeal download. Suprisingly no one has noticed this before (Thanks Derek)

A small notice that the Alchemy skin is now updated to version 1.01.
Issues with AlchemyPlayer is now solved and font images are also updated.

Camel Audio Alchemy 1.20.1

Now that the new 1.20.1 verion of Alchemy is released I am also releasing my "new" skin for it.
This skin has been available trough the Camel Audio userarea as beta tester content for a few months but now it is also released to the public.
Either you login at Camel Audio to download the easy installed .CamelSounds file or you can download the Zip file and do the extracting by yourself here.

If you intend to adjust the skin in any way, please read the file named _skin.info.txt first.

This Skin is only tested on Windows 32bit but it should also work on Win64bit and Mac, however it's not tested on Mac so any bugs found could be reported here.

Kirnu the Arpeggiator

Arto Vaarala has realease a vst arpeggiator named Kirnu. Kirnu has plenty of features such as: Easy realtime tweaking, User friendly pattern view, MIDI learn for every major control, Two independent CC controls with 'teach' functionality, Numerous of different scales, Hold mode and more.
The best part about Kirnu is that it's totally free! Actually Kirnu is a donationware plugin and be sure you send Arto some green ones if you really like and end up using Kirnu. Head over to Arto's place and download the plugin. Available formats are: VST/Win32, VST/Win32nonSSE2, VST/Win64 and VST/MacOSX32.

Chris Kerry synthesizers

Vst plugins from Chris Kerry are not freeware but because of their pricing his plugins are a really good value for the money.
I helped Chris to make the GUI's for his synthesizers the "Flexoid" and the "WideBoy" more user-friendly and abit easier to navigate.
If you have'nt checked these out yet I suggest you go to Chris's website and download the demos.

Plogue Chipsounds

Hi, it's been awhile since the last update on this blog, I have now uploaded 2 free skins for the Plogue Chipsound Synthesizer. Actually it's one skin with two different colors and they are based on the layout from the default skin.
These skins were created for the 1.5 version of Chipsounds, the plugin has been updated to 1.501 but the skins should work ok.

To install just copy the new skins folder to the Chipsounds directory, then rename the folder to GUI (make a backup/rename the original GUI folder first). Next time you start the plugin the new skin should be in use.

Tactilesounds - Substance

Substance is a newly released freeware/donationware VA synthesizer available in Windows vsti format.
The GUI, which I lend a helping hand with is following the same look and feel as Tactilesounds previous plugin the TS-808.
If you visit the Substance website (linked above) you will find many sounddemos to listen to and some extra soundpatches aswell, but ofcourse you should download the synth and try it out for yourself.

Supersynths - Supercore (not available)

A few months ago I created a skin for the Supercore plugin made by Supersynths.
Due to some circumstances this skin has never been implemented and the Supercore skin project never took off.
I post this here as I thought it would be nice to have the gui here aswell, as some sort of portfolio.

Cakewalk have a blowout sale this month on the classic z3ta+ synthesizer, programmed by rgc:audio.
I among many others could not withstand the temptation to buy this great synth, however I found the original skin too bright. I wanted something darker and decided to make one for myself instead of using the already existing ones.
As always I'll also make it free for anyone who wants to use it.

Arguru Voyager - Easier installer

Asseca has made an .exe installer for our Voyager skin, this should make the installation really simple for anyone.

Installation

If you DON'T have any other mGUI plugins installed:
Run the Voyager-lf.exe installer program to copy the folders+files into the VstPlugins folder.
--- OR ---

If you DO have any other mGUI plugins installed OR you DON'T want the skin-files in the VstPlugins folder:
Run the Voyager-lf.exe installer program to copy the folders+files to the asData folder.

Run asData\mGUIman.exe or asData\setVSTmGUIpaths.exe to automatically set the asData path in the registry.

Then copy/move the Arguru's Voyager.dll into the \asData\plugins folder.
The voyager.dll file can be downloaded at: The Aodix website

Then you should also download this >update< of the voyager_gui.dll file,
unrar it and overwrite the old voyager_gui.dll file.

If it for some reason still won't work properly the solution can be to move the "asdata" folder out of you "vstplugins" folder so that the host does not scan those files.

Ctrlr - Yamaha TX81-Z Editor

Ctrlr is a free opensource project where they build vst plugin editors for hardware synths.
The skin I have made is for the Yamaha TX81-Z Synthesizer and is called 'TX81ZLime', it can be downloaded here
ofcourse you need the hardware synthesizer aswell for this to work.

Tactile Sounds TS-808 1.0.0.2

The new 2.0 version of the freeware TR-808 emulator from Tactile Sounds has just been released.

Alot of new functions has been added aswell as a brand new gui, created by me and with ideas and suggestions from Sinkmusic.

Oatmeal skin updated to r7

Just a small notice that the Lumina skin is updated to r7.
New in this version it that all knobs with both positive and negative values has been made bipolar. Another new 'feature' is that the replacement knobs from r6 is removed instead there's 2 skins in the .zipfile and the knob modification is already done. That means that the download size is twice as big but yet very small.

Oatmeal skin updated to r6

In this new update of my Oatmeal skin I have changed the knobs so that they have indicator rings to show their state.

Remember to use only the 38-1 or newer version of Oatmeal for compability reasons.

Installation:
Unzip the zipfile to 'Oatmeal\oatmeal skins' folder.
There should be a file called 'lf_lumina.oms' and a folder called 'lf_lumina' that contains all the images.
Load the skin by clicking on the skin button on Oatmeals gui.

These vst's are created by SAR VST.

More Skins for Poise!

I had an unfinished skin lying around on my harddrive so I finished it.
As I was wrapping up the existing skin I also made 6 quick variations of it.
Because of the amount of skins it's a pretty hefty download weighing in at 10 megabytes, shouldn't be a problem with todays broadband standard but if it is a problem don't hesitate to contact me about it.

For these skins to function properly you need atleast to use Poise version 1.019 (or higher)

Strings Dream - RGB line

Another plugin from the Nusofting product line, named the Strings Dream Synthesizer. It is an emulation and tribute to the string machines of yesteryear. The three default gui's are all warm and vintage looking and reflecting this synths wherabouts, I thought that I'd change that. ;-)

So, I've made one new 'modern' looking skin with three colorschemes Red, Gree, Blue, hence the RGB in the title.

This skin modifies the actual screensize and layout of the plugin, because of this it won't work when the plugin is in demo mode. I'm really sorry for this but there's nothing I can do about that I'm afraid.
Because of the screensize change the the plugin needs to be restarted for this skin to be displayed right, closing and opening the gui won't work.

Modelonia from Nusofting

Fire & Ice synthesizer

Fire and Ice by Ametrine Audio was released at the end of 2009, it's a commercial synthesizer based on the Wusikstation v.5.8.4 engine.
The synth has 160 presets with 250 variations and is suited for 'Ambient, Electronic, Soundtrack, Hardcore and Acid House' genres.

I made two skins for this project, one cream colored (easy on the eyes) and one with the fire&ice concept, the latter one is pretty rough on the eyes.

Maximizing Loudness - LoudMax 1.07

The new 1.07 version of LoudMax (loudness maximizer) by Thomas Mundt has gotten a new gui designed by me and Sinkmusic.
Sinkmusic came up with the colorscheme and some ideas of how it could look, my part was creating the graphic objects. The result turned out pretty well, and all three of us are happy with the outcome.

I participated in the AudioMidi "no-brainer" deal a few weeks ago where the price on this synthesizer was so tempting I couldn't resist it,
alot of people bought it so let's hope this skin will get a decent amount of downloads. ;)

Anyway, here's the download link:

To install these skins you'll have to unzip the zipfile directly to your UltraAnalog VA-1\Bitmap\ folder, this will create folders for both the Darkside and Lightside skins. Now you have to move the image files to the bitmap folder and replace the existing one. Renaming the files might be neccesary.

I don't have a Mac so I do not know if this is the correct installation procedure for Mac users, I doubt it would differ to much from the Pc version though.

For each skin there's 3 versions , with metal, without metal and colored sections.

And of course the obligatory screenshots.

Skin for Wusikstation!

I've been working on a skin for the synth and effect version of Wusikstation.

This skin works with version 5.8.4 and above,
it's also included within the installer ofversion 5.8.6.
This is a separate dowload of the exact same skin.

Thanks to KVR community for betatesting and bugreporting during the building phase of this skin, also thanks to WilliamK author of the Wusik products for all the input and finally letting the skin be included in the installer.

Scanned Synth - skins updated

Humanoid Sounds has updated their synth ScannedSynth2 to version 2.0.10. The update contains a new built-in preset manager and also a correction for a project saving bug with the presetbanks (AU version).

The new preset manager needed to be skinned so that's what this skin update is about.
You can see in the screenshot, I've added the preset manager and the "rename preset" button at the bottom of the gui below the ScannedSynth logo.

Jeremy Evers Atlantis - Skins updated to version 1.04

With the Update to version 0.9P of the Atlantis virtual synthesizer and filter plugin Jeremy added support for .png files and the use of their alphachannel for transparency.

Again I have updated my skins, and finally been able to eliminate some small bugs that has been bugging me for a long time.

Oatmeal Lumina - Updated to 'r5'

Arguru Voyager - New skin made with help of Asseca

This time the new skin is a co-op with Asseca, I created all the graphics and Asseca implemented those using his own program mGui, we can now present you with 3+1 new skins for Voyager!

-Updated to version 1.04
Added presethandler at the top bar of the gui.
Removed the designer button, no more "moving objects around" accidents.
The "missing some steps when clicking displays" bug is fixed by Asseca.
Osc2 waveform and mirrorwaveform were mixed up, now fixed.
Skin4 modified.

Installation:
First of all to use this skin you'll need to download mGui from Asseca's website (mGui.exe).

mGui needs to be installed in your
plugins directory,
mine would be [D:/Vstplugins].

So, now you've installed mGui and for me it would look like this [D:/Vstplugins/Asseca]

Download this skin file:
LF_Voyager_mGuiskin.rar
and extract it to the [Asseca/] folder.

-This step is very important!
Now you need to download Voyager and install it to the [Asseca/asData/plugins] folder,
if you already have voyager just move it to the same folder.

Start mGUIman.exe, located in the [Asseca/asData] folder.
Click the "UPDATE ALL DLLs" button located in the top left corner.

Start your Vst host and load the "Voyager_Gui" plugin, enjoy!

If you want to change a skin or a presetbank, rightclick an empty space on the gui and you will get a popup menu where you can handle presets and skins.

Atlantis 0.9O - skins updated

In the new version of Atlantis the "new" delaybox is replaced with the old one, of course I had to update my 4 skins for this version of Atlantis.

Jeremy has made one of the greatest freeware synths, Atlantis. With the update to version 0.9M the synth were made skinnable and ofcourse I couldn't resist to make new clothes for it. :)

Currently there are four colorvariations for this skin one more is in the works but after that I think it'll be enough.

Scanned Synth Pro 2

Humanoid Sound Systems is the author of the Scanned Synth Pro 2 synthesizer, it's synthesis method is rather unique an is called scanned synthesis.
The default gui is tabbed and uses pages for each section of the synth such as synthesis,modulations and effects. I have made a one-page gui where everything is available in one single page, this is also the reason the gui is more compact and has slightly smaller knobs than the default.
Give them a whirl.

Fuzzpilz have two Vst-plugins on his website, I have made custom skins for both of these plugs.
Charsiesis is a chorus/delay effect module and Oatmeal is 2-oscillator subtractive synthesizer, both are freeware and really top notch plugins.
"Custom" manual for Charsiesis is made by Sinkmusic.

A while ago I made a skin for Xhip which Aciddose implemented,
I've made some small changes to it since then but I'm no good at coding so I'm very limited in further developing it. Nowadays Xhip ships with a very nice, Branis made defalut gui.

Welcome to the Flavours of Lime!
I know, I know, Limeflavour was already taken so I had to come up with something... ;)

Anyway this blog will be used as a showcase for the graphical interfaces I've created for different audio programs and software plugins, mostly free ones. As this is only a hobby and done in sparetime there aren't that much stuff here yet and updates might be far apart.

First I'll start by posting the work I've done so far and will be adding newer images as soon as anything new is finished. Keep in mind that the oldest work can be a few years old.
